The Realme 2 Pro (Review) is the first among the company's 2018 phones to receive the Pie update. The Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme U1 and Realme C1 are expected to get updated to Android Pie in June. The Android Pie update for the Realme 2 Pro also brings ColorOS 6 and the May, 2019 Android security patch.

With Android Pie-based ColorOS 6, the Realme 2 Pro now gets a brand new UI with features like app drawer, new navigation gesture and lock screen magazine, among other things. The company posted the changelog of the update build number RMX1801EX_11.A.20. The update is 2.71GB in size.

The changelog also mentions features like Chroma Boost and HAL3 support for the camera. The Pie update also brings notification icons in the status bar, Riding Mode, Live Wallpaper, Game Space and Realme Theme Store, among other things. How to download Android Pie on Realme 2 Pro

The stable Android Pie update for the Realme 2 Pro is being rolled out as an OTA update and should automatically reach your phone over the next few days. The company mentions that this is a staged rollout and the OTA is being pushed out randomly to a limited number of users initially while a broader rollout will take place in the next few days.

You can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > software update. Realme also adds that users who want the Pie update asap can send a mail with their IMEI number to realme.feedback@realme.com. Users should also make sure their Realme 2 Pro is on the latest Android O firmware in order to receive the Pie update.

Realme urges Realme 2 Pro owners to backup their data before updating to avoid data loss. Some users have already reported issues of their Realme 2 Pro bricking after updating to Android Pie for which Realme suggests wiping the data in recovery mode.
